ATI is conducting long-term groundwater monitoring for the U.S. Army Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) Waterways Experiment Station (WES) in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The ERDC WES is a research and development laboratory specializing in hydraulic research for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

The site, which is regulated under the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), consists of six solid waste management units (SWMUs) and two areas of concern. Groundwater monitoring has been conducted at ERDC WES since 1990. Since 2015, ATI has continued long-term monitoring of the sites through annual sampling of eleven monitoring wells throughout the entire site, and a semiannual sampling of six wells at the Motor Pool area of concern.

In addition, ATI developed a Statement of Basis to inform the public of the proposed remedies for contaminated soil and groundwater at the Motor Pool area of concern, thus fulfilling the RCRA requirements for the site.

ATI’s performance on this task order led to additional contracts and task order awards by the USACE Omaha District.
