ATI was involved with the replacement of the existing embankment structure along the Guest River Gorge (Wise County), VA. Prior to the construction, the conditions at the project location included steep banks containing trees, brush, and cobbles and large boulders within the stream channel. The construction of a new bank stabilization structure involved a series of practices including but not limited to vegetation management, the grubbing of the banks, placement of geosynthetic material, placement of aggregate, reinforcing steel and riprap.
