Overview of the project
ATI provides quality and safety-related program management support at the Nevada Test and Training Range which includes augmenting the three areas of range safety (Ground, Radiation, and Range), grade and log required training for contract and military personnel pertaining to radiation training, radioactive materials removal from target vehicles, create weapons profiles for the customers (various military units), and safety surveillance during special missions to ensure the operators are conducting missions safely. ATI staff were part of the escort team leading two Army M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System), delivered by two Air Force C-17 aircraft, from a dirt runway to their designated firing point. ATI was responsible for the safety of the fire mission with no safety incidents, and then escorted the M142 HIMARS s back to the airstrip where they were loaded and flown back out.

ATI also managed the FALCO testing and development of a new weapons system which was created to find a more cost-effective way to shoot down aerial drones. These system tests were successful and led to implementation of the new system in the theater within two weeks. The success of the effort led to multiple Nevada Test and Training Range team members receiving medals.

ATI has created specialized Weapon Danger Zones that enabled service members' families to observe Close Air Support missions and live ordnance. This project also gave weapons school students a chance to inspect target areas prior to training, giving them the opportunity to develop effective attack strategies and evaluate weapons performance.
Result / Impact
ATI’s quality and safety-related program management support has led to several successful tests advancing military and weapon technology, while also safely providing valuable in-field educational opportunities.
Client Quote
“Chris as a contractor was not eligible for the medal, however he was instrumental in the overall effort by contributing to multiple aspects of the tests: he built the initial weapons profiles, helped me with the actual test profiles (which had to be custom, one-off profiles built from test data), and supported the boots-on-the-ground aspects of the actual test events. He deserves credit for what he did for those tests and unfortunately couldn’t receive a medal along with the rest of us. Chris has been, and continues to be an asset to my directorate, and the NTTR.”
- Chief of Safety Range, Nellis AFB NV
“Chris and Todd are doing a great job for us at the NTTR. They submit their reports on time and have always been available when needed. We made some additional task additions to the contract we would like for Chris and Todd to have...”
- EOD/UXO Program Manager, COR
