Overview of the project
Across the UMBC campus, ATI has conducted comprehensive industrial hygiene and safety services, including monitoring asbestos abatement projects, indoor air quality surveys, potable water sampling, lead based paint surveys, asbestos inspections, and other hazardous materials (mercury, PCBs, biological pathogens) surveys.

Services involved reactive investigations from either new construction or on-going construction projects but mainly from water leaks throughout the campus facilities. ATI conducted a full hazardous materials survey of UMBC’s Fine Arts Building, which spanned some 166,000 square feet. ATI’s environmental scientist surveyed the facility for asbestos, lead-based paint, fluorescent lamps, mercury, PCB light ballasts, and chemical/hazardous materials storage.
Result / Impact
ATI’s work within the Fine Arts Building and across all other campus facilities ensure a safe, healthy, and comfortable work and living environment for both students and faculty.
