ATI provides industrial hygiene and environmental health and safety (IH & EHS) services to the US Department of State (DOS) embassies and consulates worldwide. ATI’s Global Division has been recognized by the DOS for our services which have encompassed over 500 tasks in more than 160 countries.

Asbestos is the primary focus of the IH & EHS Division. To date, ATI has addressed asbestos issues through surveys, re-inspections, and abatement oversight for more than 4,000 buildings in approximately 200 embassies, and with consulates in 160 countries. These include office buildings, support facilities, residences, and short-term rental properties. ATI also provides oversight and air monitoring of asbestos and mold abatement projects to ensure compliance with federal regulations, host country regulations, and project specifications.

ATI’s IH & EHS Division’s services include Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments in South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa to support potential acquisitions of new embassy compounds and individual buildings.

ATI also conducts four training sessions annually. Sessions are held local to the DMV in Rosslyn, Virginia as well as globally. Each session is, on average, attended by 30 to 40 facility managers and related personnel from embassies and consulates in the region. Topics include asbestos and other hazardous materials recognition and management, as well as various environmental issues. AHERA Inspector certification training is provided.
