Overview of the project
DGI-ATI JV is the prime contractor leading FUSRAP records management efforts for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Great Lakes and Ohio River, Mississippi Valley, and North Atlantic Divisions. DGI-ATI JV provides document collection, digitization, and data entry services to generate project files for active use as well as transfer to Department of Energy-Legacy Management.

ATI provides records and database management support on the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). FUSRAP was initiated in 1974 to identify, investigate and clean up, or control sites throughout the United States that had become contaminated with low-level radioactive material from the nation’s early atomic weapons and energy programs. FUSRAP has generated thousands of electronic and paper records such as reports, sampling data, correspondence, regulatory decision documents that are kept in USACE District offices across the United States.

ATI visits each District to collect and sort the records which are then scanned, quality-checked, labeled in a consistent format, and returned to the Districts. We also are developing and populating a password-protected online database and document management system for the FUSRAP records to allow access to them by USACE and other authorized users and to maintain the records for future use.
Result / Impact
DGI-ATI JV team members coordinated to identify cost-saving practices; efficiently reviewing, digitizing, and processing records into fully searchable offline electronic database systems for its USACE clients.
